Essex County Council commissioned Ranch to create engaging video and photography content for their 2022/23 development projects, the LoCASE programme, and the Solar Together Scheme, using case studies, professional interviews, drone footage, and animations to transform housing messages and successfully promote the schemes across digital, print, and PR channels.

Brief

Essex County Council tasked us with creating video & photography content to promote a successful 2022/23 development schedule across multiple sites in Essex, as well as the Low Carbon Across the South and East (LoCASE) programme and the hugely successful Solar Together Scheme - grouping local residents together to achieve significant savings on solar panels and battery storage.

Approach

Our approach to all 3 schemes was made up from multiple case studies across Essex across a number of local residents and business sectors, showcasing individual stories and highlighting successes. Combining professionally shot interview footage with pro audio with inspiring b-roll from drone footage and animations we take mundane housing messaging and make it exciting! 

Results

Lead marketing films & photography were delivered and used across multiple sectors in the Council across all digital channels, print & PR showcasing the huge success of all the schemes we covered across the county.

The Extraordinary Businesses campaign will be used to support the recovery of the Essex economy from the effects of the global pandemic and to boost the profile of Essex and its businesses both in the UK and overseas. The aim is to surprise people with what Essex has to offer and to showcase Essex as a current and future business location to build on key identified sectors. Aspiring viewers to be here and experience the ‘business buzz’ that is evident around the county.

Brief

Essex County Council tasked us with rebranding the county as ‘a global hub for business’. With international ports & airports, fast routes to London, cities and universities, and an abundance of skilled workers this was a challenge we knew how to fulfil.

Approach

We interviewed 6 hugely impressive, forward thinking businesses across a wide range of industry including Finance, Tech, Healthcare & IT. From microchips destined for space, to OTC HIV home testing kits, Essex is the home to many industry leaders, and we were honoured to tell their story.

Results

A lead marketing film used across multiple sectors in the Council across all digital channels showcasing the true potential of Essex increasing awareness and click through rate by 67%.

Essex County Council commissioned Ranch to create engaging video and photography content

promoting up to date Covid-19 communications.

Showcasing the transition from lockdown restrictions to the 'new' normal in 2021, where residents were able to do more of the things they love whilst still observing Covid-safe behaviours.

Brief

Create lead video assets for Essex County Council’s ‘Let’s Keep COVID in Check’ campaign promoting Covid-safe behaviours in an optimistic, benefits-driven way, and centred around a core, communities-focused campaign film that feels ‘inherently Essex’ in spirit.

Approach

From Kick-off Call to completion this technically challenging film was delivered in 10 working days! Filmed over 4 days, in 12 locations with 30 cast and a large crew we pulled off this lead film for TV and social media, 2 bespoke Radio Ads, campaign imagery and 15 separate social edits across every social media platform you can think of! It was a tough few weeks peppered with late nights in the editing suite but when you deliver on time, on budget and with a multitude of praise from the client its well worth it.

Results

This hugely successful county wide campaign was simultaneously delivered to both TV stations, VoD, SKY ADSmart services & Radio as well as a diverse digital marketing campaign resulting in well over 500,000+ views and impressions.

Travel Essex

App & DigiGo Launch

Essex County Council commissioned Ranch to create engaging video and photography content for their 2022/23 development projects, the LoCASE programme, and the Solar Together Scheme, using case studies, professional interviews, drone footage, and animations to transform housing messages and successfully promote the schemes across digital, print, and PR channels.

Brief

This multi-channel brief consisted of a number requirements; raising awareness of the new TravelEssex app & new DigiGo bus service through real life examples of use and travel, as well as explaining how the app & service worked. This project combined live action films, animated explainers, campaign imagery and a number of shorter social media / CTA ads to be used across all of ECC's channels.

Approach

Collaborating with ECC and other partnering agencies to deliver this multi-channel launch was key to its success. Utilising our dedicated ECC Account Manager ensured full transparency of our timelines and planning for all parties involved of our work streams & milestones that included Script writing, Storyboards, Shoot Schedules, Shot Lists, Locations scouting, Casting, film production, & animation production. This in-turn enabled our skilled team to deliver on multiple work streams simultaneously ensuring all campaign creative was developed and delivered on time.

Results

The TravelEssex & DigiGo campaign was a huge success, Filmed over 3 days, in 8 locations with 20 cast and a large crew delivering 1 lead story-led live action film, 2 animated explainer films, 22 Social Media & Paid Ad Edits across all Social Media channels and over delivering with 50+ campaign images. Resulting in 13,000 downloads of the new TravelEssex app, which is the most downloaded app the council has ever issued and over 244,000 views of the TravelEssex film on YouTube alone.
